Best Practices

Zingos Lacrosse is excited to begin its return to play initiative at this time. As the community begins to gradually open up, it is important to understand that we still must remain diligent about safety procedures and continue to follow CDC guidelines and best practices set forth regarding COVID-19. The modified practices are set to begin on/or after Saturday, June 6th and are NOT mandatory. Players will not be penalized if they choose not to attend the practices. Zingos Lacrosse is putting in strict guideline in order to ensure the safety and well-being of our players, families, and coaching staff.

The following procedures will be put in place to create a safe return to play for all players, parents, and coaches. Waivers will be sent out weekly to families and will also be available on our website.

Pre-Practice:
• All equipment must be completely sanitized prior to practices.
• Each player must bring their own water bottle.
• There will be no access to bathrooms, so please take care of this before your practice.

Drop Off:
• Parents/players must be wearing face masks upon arriving to practices and dropping off players.
• Players must arrive at designated time, please do not be early.
• One coach will be responsible for facilitating the drop off procedures.
• Please pull up to the cone where the coach is standing to let your child out.
• Coach will take players temperature immediately after he exits the car.
• Once the car in front of you drops off their child, the next car will pull up and drop off their child.
• Please do not pull into a parking space and drop off your child.
• Parents can not be in attendance around the practice area, but may park in the parking lot and remain in car.

Practices:
• In stage one return to play, players will only be required to bring, helmet, gloves, stick, and water bottles. Please do not bring equipment bag. The only exception will be goalies who may bring protective gear. Players may choose to bring a small plastic bag for their face mask.
• No players can share equipment.
• Practices will be held to 8 players and 2 coaches.
• When facilitating skill development drills, players will be spaced out at least 10 ft. apart.
• One coach will be facilitating drills from at least 10 ft. apart.
• One coach will be ensuring that players are at least 10 ft. apart at all times.
• Coaches will be wearing masks at all times.
• Once practices are over, players are expected to leave immediately and not gather socially.

Pick Up:
• Parents/players must be wearing face masks upon picking up players.
• Parents can not gather outside of their cars.
• Players must be picked up at designated time, please do not be early.
• One coach will be responsible for facilitating the pick up procedures.
• Please pull up to the cone where the coach is standing to let your child into car.
• Once the car in front of you picks up their child, the next car will pull up and pick up their child.
• Please do not pull into a parking space to pick up your child.
• Once you pick up your child, please evacuate the parking area immediately.
• Players must apply hand sanitizer (supplied by parents).

Post Practice Procedures:
• Each player must sanitize their stick, helmet, gloves, and water bottle after each practice.
• Notify coach or Zingos administration immediately if your son begins to experience signs and or symptoms of COVID 19.

Please continue to follow CDC safety precautions:
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 secs.
• If soap and water is not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
• Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with hands.
• Maintain proper distancing of at least 6 ft.
• Cover coughs and sneezes.
• Monitor your health.

Thank you for your patience and support as we try to continue to navigate through these unchartered waters. As mentioned in our town hall meetings, please do what is best for you and your family. Please do not feel pressure to attend the modified in person practices if you do not feel comfortable. Coaches will continue to provide monthly work outs for players who can not make the in person practices. Please feel free to reach out to Ken or Mike if you have any questions and/or concerns.

Sincerely,
Ken and Mike Senisi
